Pearls:

  • Most Common Age Group: Pediatric and Adolescents (51%)
  • Scalp lesions are approximately Two times more common in Men
  • Most common Symptoms: Itching (53.5%)  followed by hair loss (46.5%)
  • Most common site: Parietal region
  • Psoriatic lesions of scalp, Alopecia areata, Seborrheic dermatitis and Male Pattern Hair Loss contribute to more than 50% of scalp dermatoses
  • Scaling disorders of the scalp and Alopecia contribute to 57% of scalp dermatoses
